Transcript from Divi Theme Tutorial – Blog Style Mode

Hello this is Jimi Blevins with Mozaic Technology.

Today I’d like to talk to you about an option in the Divi theme called, “Blog Style Mode.” Now to show you what this does,I’m going to go over here to our testing website so you can get an idea of what I’m talking about. Now right now I have the website set up in standard mode and if you scroll through it you’ll see it’s a picture, and a little bit of lead in of text. Let’s say that I wanted some more content on the home page of my website, not just a photo and a couple sentences. That’s what this option does.

We come back here to our “Divi Theme Options” and enable this “Blog Style Mode,” save the changes really quick, then we come back to our testing website and refresh.

You’ll see that now not only does it still have the picture and the text, but it actually puts the entire blog post. So, if you wanted your whole blog post on the home page of your website, that’s what this option can do.

Let’s say that you wanted to offer a little more than the standard but you didn’t want to give away the whole store when people came to the website, so you just wanted to give him a couple paragraphs. Well this option in the Divi Theme works really well with WordPress’s built-in “Read More,” so I’ll show you how to set that up. I’ve already got a post ready, that first post here on that page, setup to show you what I mean. Now again we’re not using the Divi Builder, this is an option that is set right in to standard WordPress. So let’s say I want a little “Read More” link right here after the second paragraph. I come up here and click on, “Insert Read More” tag and that puts this little line here. If I update this post, you’ll notice that when I go back to the website we’re only going to have those couple paragraphs there. Hit refresh, and there we have it. I’ve got my my featured image, a read in of the article, and this “Read More” link. I’m not putting the entire article there on the homepage, just a little bit to give people an idea of what they’re reading in case they want more information.

So that’s what the ‘Blog Style Mode” option does here in the Divi Theme Options. Thank you so much for watching, once again my name is Jimi Blevins with Mozaic Technology.
